Vintage Hairstyles of the 1920’s
The early 1920’s witnessed major progress in the transition of women’s hairstyles from the traditional long-hair styles of the nineteenth century - to new short-hair styles like “the bob”, a process that started during the great war (WW1). Although early 1920’s bobbed hairstyles were very plain and straight and almost masculine in style, the bobbed hairstyles of the late 1920’s and early 1930’s were much more stylish and feminine. Bobbed hairstyles of the late 1920’s endured in popularity through the early 1930’s as well. Many of the popular and attractive shorter womens hairstyles from the 20’s and 30’s are currently experiencing a modern day revival as hair stylists go back in time seeking fresh ideas and inspiration from the beautiful short hairstyles of this trend setting era.
The most popular hairstyles of the nineteen twenties included the bob, marcel wave, finger wave, and shingle, all of which came with numerous variations. Hairstyles like the Eton Crop were temporary phenomenons that disappeared as fast as they arrived. Barbers and hairdressers were in competition with each other for the cream of this booming hairdressing business, as women of all ages sacrificed their long tresses on the altar of fashion.
As early adopters of the new shorter hair styles, 1920’s movie stars and other celebrities played a big part in popularizing the new hair fashions through appearances in movies and stage shows, the new hairstyles they sported being eagerly copied by their adoring fans. Even though it was very expensive when first introduced, permanent hair waving was an instant hit with women looking for permanence in their hairstyles.
In the 1920’s short hair for women was “in” and rapidly took over from the previously fashionable long hair styles. Bobbed hairstyles were considered extremely radical and unattractive by many to begin with but young women and middle aged women embraced the style in increasing numbers. Sophisticated cuts including shingling were used to create attractive bobs that featured waves and curls to soften and enhance the styling. These later fashionable bobs continued in popularity well into the early 1930’s defying critics who had predicted the bob would be a short-lived fad that would only survive a year or two at most. In actual fact, the mass migration to bobbed hairstyles turned out to be part of a major revolution in womens hairstyling.

Fact and Infomation about Chemotherapy Hair Loss
Thank you for visiting and choosing to read this article, it is a pleasure for me to provide you excellent written materials.
Chemotherapy hair loss is one of the numerous effects of this cancer treatment. What is the reason why hair loss occurs during chemotherapy? Well, the drugs used in this type of cancer treatment are very strong, therefore very efficient in attacking the rapidly developing cancer cells. There are normal body cells with a rapid growth rate, and they are not cancer; among these, the cells in the hair roots, as well. The effects of chemotherapy on hair are not limited only to the scalp as the procedure affects the hair on the body, too. Thus, patients will experience the loss of eyebrows, eyelashes, pubic and armpit hair.
There is a wide variety of drugs that are used in chemotherapy. Among these, obviously some are more likely to cause chemotherapy hair loss than others. The concentration of the drugs is another aspect to consider when hair loss is under discussion, as hair loss ranges from thinning to complete baldness. Thus, discussing the medication that will be prescribed with the doctor and nurse is very important as they are the specialists able to inform the patient on what to expect from chemotherapy.
Hair usually starts falling out after 10–14 days from the beginning of the treatment. It may fall out quite fast, either in clumps or gradually. Hair loss usually continues throughout the treatment and even one month after it. Half the hair will be gone without one even noticing. Luckily, in most cases, chemotherapy hair loss represents a temporary effect. Hair can be expected to grow back within six months to one year after the cessation of the treatment. The new hair could have a slightly different shade of color, with the mention that even the texture could be altered too.
It usually takes about four to six weeks for the hair to recover from chemotherapy, and generally, the hair grows at a rate of about a quarter inch each month. The changes that took place in the hair follicles during chemotherapy will be obvious in the way the hair grows back, but in time, things will get back to normal. The changes will be a first recovery sign and the hair will recover the look previous to the treatment the moment the cells that control the hair pigment begin working again. Unfortunately, one cannot prevent chemotherapy hair loss as there is no treatment which will guarantee that the hair will not fall out.

Grow Your Hair Back
Though I know it is not nice to tease people who looses their hair, my brother does not seem to mind at all. His hairline has been receding since he was 18 years old, and he often jokes about finding new ways to grow hair. This has becomes some kind of a family joke, and he is usually the one who initiates the joking. While we know that there is no way to really grow hair that has been lost forever, it doesn’t mean we don’t find good humor in his efforts.
Often the root of the problem is the result of dandruff. What causes dandruff and how it affects balding? And are there remedies for dandruff?
I am aware that there are may products out there that claim you can grow your hair. When I say that my brother has tried them all, I mean every word of it. If the products claims to grow hair, he has tried it. He has had lotions, sprays, pills, and anything else you can think of in his possession. The end results were always the same. Each year his hairline continues to recede, and there has not been one new hair growth in that area. He hasn’t given up hope though, and as far as I know, he may be saving up for transplant surgery.
If there is something that promises you that it can help you grow your hair, you should think twice. Though products like Rogaine have been on the market for quite a while, I have never actually met anyone who says it works. I saw many Rogaine in the different bathrooms that I helped cleaned while I was in college. I don’t know if it works to grow hair, but there are many people who tried. Probably if I went back to those same bathrooms now, Rogaine would no longer be in the cabinet.
If going bald is not your problem, you want to grow hair longer. There are some that you can try. The best thing is to get a trim every month or every six weeks. Though this may sound like it contradicts your efforts of trying to grow your hair, believe me when I say this is very important. Hair that is not trimmed begins to split on the ends. If those splits are not removed, your hair will break off and will never grow. It may not seem to be productive trimming hair, but give it six months and see what happens.
